Antisemitism & the Holocaust have certainly used & misused to further the AIPAC narrative (here in the US at least) of Israeli policies & actions. Matter of fact the late David Wyman's The Abandonment of the Jews, which raises some valid issues, has spawned an subset of historical scholarship aimed at alleged Allied complicity in the Holocaust, the issues occasionally cited by Israeli leaders & diplomats (e.g. the failure to bomb the tracks to Auschwitz) when countering international criticism of Israeli actions vis á vis the Palestinians.

Regarding the Mufti, it's certainly foolish to image he inspired the Holocaust in any way (though he doubtless thought it a capital idea), but it's possible he has blood on his hands from extracting a promise from Hitler to prevent Jewish immigration to Palestine.

I note the continued use of the word "fascist" here to describe Israeli leadership. With so much wrong with it now & in the past (this is, after all, the country who elected the man, Shamir, who took part in the killing of Count Folke Bernadotte, Prime Minister!!), I'm not sure I would characterize it thus.

Israel's issue vis à vis the Palestinians is simple: Justice for them is return, & return means an end to the Jewish state. A close examination of wartime rescue attempts shows they failed largely because the Jews had no place to go. That is why Israel must maintain a Jewish majority. Otherwise what use is it?
