To compare the Stones, or any blues-inspired rock band to the protagonist in Yesterday, who literally played Beatles' songs & claimed them for his own, is beyond hyperbole. Did any member of Cream claim to have written Robert Johnson's "Crossroads"?

Would people even know who Johnson was were it not for the inspiration he provided a generation of US & Brit blues-rockers?
