Details matter, sometimes. I don't see how calling Rittenhouse's AR a "machine gun" matters in this context. Bearing in mind that "machine gun" "sub-machine gun" & "assault rifle" are semantically interchangeable even if, by popular usage, they have come to signify different things. In short, we could have just as easily wound up calling machine guns "assault rifles" & visa versa. And still be semantically correct.
