Henry Kissinger leaves a complicated legacy, no doubt. But you're putting the treason Nixon campaigners undertook to win in '68 on him? He provided information. Nixon & co acted on it.

(Treason probably also put Reagan into the Oval Office, but that's another story for another day).

Furthermore, the illegal carpet-bombing of Cambodia by B52s was ordered by Nixon after Kissinger advised him against it: “The problem is, Mr. President, the Air Force is designed to fight an air battle against the Soviet Union. They are not designed for this war . . . in fact, they are not designed for any war we are likely to have to fight.” Though Kissinger later relayed Nixon's order to Haig.

More on the plus column (though maybe not to you) was Kissinger's role in authorizing Operation Nickel Grass, the massive airlift of supplies to Israel in '73, which might have averted nuclear war & certainly allowed Israel to prevail after giving Sadat the victory he needed to move forward & make peace with Israel.

Kissinger probably bears most of the responsibility for green-lighting Suharto's invasion of East Timor in '75 which led to the deaths of thousands, torture & every sort of abuse by Indonesian troops.
