How can one be a commoner unless there are royals?

Still, I do think QE2's passing will mark the decline of the monarchy. Although never Empress of India, she did ascend during a period with then Empire was largely intact, just as today it largely is not. There will be another coronation, sure. But it will matter far less than hers, & it might help people in the UK prepare for the notion of it being the last.
