I appreciate this. Without truly understanding why I tend to feel obligated to people, whether salespersonnel or authority figures or someone pitching an idea. Even in my early 60s I'd have a hard time saying no to someone under the circumstances you describe. "No obligation" is one of our culture's most ubiquitous lies. Selling is about making people feel obligated.

Glad you walked away from this. I'm honestly surprised, given that s/he used your name you didn't post theirs. No matter. Your example is sufficient.
