I don't worry about the DNA, genetic history or lack of it with regard to the ME. I believe Jabotinsky was right when the claimed that if the Jews couldn't form a homeland in Palestine, then we wouldn't anywhere else. Unfortunately he was wrong about many other things, & these have become the foundation of Israel. Not Israel past, or foundational, or today's Likud.

Just Israel.

I think the time has come not to drop Zionism, but to consider a post-Israel Zionism. Because Israel, as implemented, has dishonored & discredited the Zionist ideal, which is simply of a homeland for the Jews. One likely to be in Palestine. Beyond that there was great flexibility, & it's this flexibility we must regain if there is to be a future in Zionism.
