Rabbi Yaakov Shapiro argues that zionism came about as a way for non-Torah observant Jews to remain Jewish. But they delude themselves because the Torah & only the Torah makes one Jewish.

Shapiro is Canadian. Has never lived in the Europe of the those who created & enacted Zionism. With that experience he might have a different perspective.
