I recall the "Cop Killer" imbroglio as I do the Rodney King riots that engulfed my hometown. The irony was a letter from the FBI to LAPD suggesting that "Cop Killer" would promote violence against police. Taking, in short, a play from GLAAD, which sought to reduce negative portrayals of gays & lesbians for exactly the same reason.

The irony of T's speed metal career having been curtailed for allegedly promoting violence against police only to have him go on to play cops (though he had already done so in 1991's New Jack City) is sharp enough to shave with.
