I'm with you in admiring Pinhead as a truly great horror creation. Now that I think of it, I might have included Hellraiser as another example of a film version that ending of which didn't live up to the book/novella. In the latter, of course, the Cenobites live up to their deal, & Pinhead isn't vanquished.
