Interesting points. When I read essays by activists who insist that racism is defined by the recipient, regardless of the speaker's intent, I have to ask: Is the same true of anti-Semitism?

Because if it is, many Jews, especially among the politically conservative, define any sympathy at all for the Palestinian cause, critique of Israeli policy, proposals for a Palestinian state, etc., as anti-Israel, & anti-Israel = anti-Semitic.

While I don't agree that every gesture of solidarity with the Palestinians is anti-Semitic, I still have to ask, are Black writers & activists prepared to accept the label of anti-Semite should they express sympathy for the Palestinian cause?

Or does intent suddenly matter?
