Israel, as a matter of longstanding policy, positions itself as representing all Jews worldwide. Without regard to our opinions or desires in the matter.

I remain a Zionist, & I believe Israel is important & must maintain a Jewish majority, but they have missed so many opportunities to provide a lasting solution to the consequences of its colonial origin.

Today, I honestly believe the only approach that might work is to offer complete sovereignty to Palestinians in Gaza & the West Bank, all of the West Bank. Give Jewish settlers a year or so to repatriate or become Palestinian citizens with Palestinian passports. Offer compensation for Israeli land taken from Arabs. Let settlers know the IDF will intervene in the case of a pogrom but otherwise they're on their own.

That's as likely as the sun rising in the west. But we can dream....
