It works both ways. I have a pretty complete Muddy Waters, Leadbelly & John Lee Hooker in my cd/album collection. How do you think that came to pass? I grew up in an all-white postwar suburb with parents who thought music was Mantovani & 101 Strings. So, yeah, the Beatles, Stones, etc. When Keith Richards says We just repackaged Howlin Wolf & sold it back to them [American listeners], I check out what he's talking about. Or when Kurt Cobain plays Leadbelly on MTV Unplugged ... how else are most white must fans going to get turned on to this music?
