Wrt the other two: I hate that Ripley needs to be a surrogate mom in order to have motivation to fight off the aliens—yes, I know, that line, that line...!
And Kill Bill ... the verbosity!
'Bill seems like what happens when an auteur has succeeded to the point where he or she no longer has to edit the material, keep it tight, in order to sell it to the suits. Sure, you can argue the dialogue-heavy scenes are a necessary respite from the constant action. To a point, yes. But still, I think Tarantino had one really great movie here. Just one.
