LOL! Birth of a Nation is exactly what I thought as well. I think people ought to be aware of it, those parts that are revolutionary in filmmaking as well as obnoxiously racist. But to sit through the whole thing...? It was made in a different age for an entirely different audience.
I haven't seen Killers of the Flower Moon yet. Osage language consultant Christopher Cote has said it might have been better told entirely from the Osage POV, but that would require an Osage director. As it was, he thought Scorsese did a good job.
