My interest, I guess, stems in part from a love of irony. For so many years now I've read & heard nearly the exact same criticisms of Lincoln from Neoconfederates desperate to prove the war had nothing to do with promoting slavery—though many of these same folk argue slavery wasn't so bad for Africans.

Then there's just what is true & what isn't.

I don't expect most of the authors to engage with me. But I can some at least of their avid readers will take pause & at least consider that what they've just read isn't the last word.

None of this, of course, has anything to do with Lincoln's likability. But, just out of curiosity, which of his ideas do you find revolting?
