No. She's not. But there's a little more going on here than an innocent mistake by an officer under stress. There's the issue of how Potter et al came into contact with Wright. As training officer she's responsible for him being pulled over on the flimsiest of pretexts. That's a problem. My understanding is that MPD doesn't do traffic stops for expired registration tags, which is fine because the state will eventually catch up.

Essentially it was the air-freshener, which is complete BS. It's the pretext used to ensure black motorists are constantly ticketed & encouraged to have warrants ongoing at most times. I mean, if the damned things are illegal in MN why are they for sale at gas stations & convenience stores?

Agree that once Daunte comes into contact with PD & is informed of his pending arrest for the warrant he ought to have known police never, never allow a suspect to re-enter a vehicle or home once put into custody. But the problem is how he came into contact with PD in the first place. Potter was responsible for that & so is responsible for all that followed.
