Not much to disagree with here--save for you key point: the solution would not be a two-people single state. Jews could not, & should not, risk becoming yet another minority in Israel-Palestine. Did we not learn from recent history where that ineluctably leads?

Equal rights for all parties is a fine idea, but how is this enforced? The British couldn't protect one side from the other when they were present in force. No foreign power's guarantee, were one offered, would have any consequence.

A two-state resolution, where Palestinians trade what had been a relatively impoverished country ruled from afar, for a secure, prosperous West Bank & Gaza where they exercise full sovereignty-- with fair compensation for those displaced-- would be the better option. But with nearly one million legal & illegal Jewish settlers on the West Bank already ... I dunno. Helena blithely proposes Israel "figure out" how to remove West Bank settlers. Perhaps she's forgotten the sturm & angst of the Gaza evacuation where just a few thousand had to be removed. Perhaps offering the option of settlers living under Palestinian authority?

I dunno. I only I won't live to see whatever outcome develops.
