Suppose she had written "engender antisemitism" rather than "fuel" it? Because that is what I see happening all over the world, unfortunately. And, no, that doesn't mean it's in any way inevitable or justified.

But, & without our consent or input, Israel portrays itself as representing all of the Jewish people in the world (& I write this as a Zionist myself), I think in many people's minds this equates its actions with any Jew, even the religious anti-Zionist.

And, incidentally, I interpreted "permanent ceasefire" in this context to mean a ceasefire without a timeline, not that Israel shouldn't take action if attacked again.

Yes, Israel has the right, the obligation, to defend itself, but Hamas cynically put its people in harm's way to bolster support, sympathy & isolate Israel &, unfortunately, it seems to be working.
