The way I saw it Fletcher was willing to sink his own orchestra, not to mention the careers of each performer, just to get back at a guy who didn't even care about drumming anymore.
Not heroic, no.
That being said, is it possible that both Andrew & Fletcher found a kind of redemption in the end: Andrew by beating Fletch at his own game, & Fletcher by both acknowledging his defeat, & realizing it was a small price to pay to bring forth Andrew's latent virtuosity?
