This is a topnotch summation of Oswald & JFK's assassination. Great title, too. "Heartbreaking". I was born in '58. My first memory of an outside event was listening to JFK's funeral on the radio with my dad. I notice younger people almost never know the significance of Nov 22 these days.
I think what's really sad is Oswald's lack of animus against JFK. At least we can understand Booth's motive, maybe he realized Andrew Johnson would resist actual reconstruction, as he did. But Oswald's lack of motive—other than some vague idea of "entering history"—just adds to the tragedy & senselessness of it all.
Brave decision to publish the photo. I have mixed feelings about it, but maybe people ought to see it.
Good work.
