Very worthwhile read, exposing some of the darker aspects of famous people. Yet I have to quibble with the characterization of Churchill as an evil man & even comparing him with say Jobs. After all, there's no excuse for a multimillionaire not paying more child support. One is reminded of J. Paul Getty in this respect.

Churchill was, by his own admission, a racist. And he made huge mistakes, some of his worst pertained to India. Horrible as the Bengal famine was, historians differ as the degree of how anthropocentric it was. There had been natural disasters, drought & other factors. Some degree of famine would probably have been inevitable. Then there's the issue of supplying the British armed forces. Given how the Japanese treated subject peoples in China, Korea & Burma, it's hard to believe they'd have been better off if the British Army had them roll across the Subcontinent.
