Was that how Mary was presented?
Don't get me wrong, I strongly dislike It's A Wonderful Life. It's casual narcissism & Middle America Christian values grate on my nerves. I just don't know if I agree that misogyny is among its worst sins.
Incidentally, I have to ask: You write that successful women are described as "cold & aggressive" while men in similar situations are "commanding leaders". Are the two mutually exclusive?
It's hard for me to think of many really successful men, at least in business, who aren't thought of both ways. Who doesn't think Bill Gates, or Steve Jobs, or Mark Zuckerberg, or Jeff Bezos aren't both commanding leaders & also assholes? They ran over plenty of partners & competitors to get where they are. Maybe it comes with the territory?
