We do not, none of us now. Or ever. As you say, this is a wake up call. We have been asleep for far too long. When a clear minority (or any proportion, really) finds itself in the position to dictate rights so fundamental to human existence.

Sorry to have learned about your experience. My wife & I struggled with fertility. And, as luck would have it, never had to confront such an awful circumstance.
