What a shame you didn't ask me. I would have begun by requesting you clarify "white food", & most likely gone on to point out that people in northern climes have less need to cool their bodies by sweating, & resultingly developed cusine less dependent on heat.

Second question: what you call "appropriation" is more likely the admixture of cultures. E.g. Charlie Parker invented bebop, a form of jazz that evolved from African & black American musical styles, but he used the alto saxophone, an instrument invented in mid-19th century Belgium by a guy named Saxe.
