Can you blame them? Ukraine suffered greatly under Bolshevism & Stalin. The Holdomor was just one, if the worst, example. Why wouldn't they hope for better treatment under German rule?

Ukrainian antisemitism at the time blamed Bolshevism on Jews. Ukrainian Auxiliary Police rounded up Jews in many districts along with German Police Battalions & Einsatzgruppen to be massacred, starting at Babi Yar.

This is not to say that the Ukraine of today is the same. I have no doubt there are antisemites still, but consider that Ukraine is the only nation, aside from Israel, to have elected a Jewish head of state. What does that tell you?
