Would we call this a "parable"? I think so. I'm glad you wrote it though it brought tears to my eyes, because that is exactly what killed my beautiful son, Aaron. He was not a 12 stepper, but he did have a year-plus of abstinence & didn't realize how vulnerable he was to overdose.
