Your essay is very interesting, provocative even. Allowing abortion services under the First Amendment ... could it? True that a clear majority of anti-choice foes come from a standpoint of religiosity, but religious belief isn't the basis for society's prohibition against murder; abortion restrictions extend prohibition against murder the embryo/fetus. In fact, even pro-choice advocates agree that someone who causes the death of a fetus, say by assault or attempted murder, can be charged with murder even if the mother survives.
