Yup. There was a sense, reported among both survivors & other Jews in the Diaspora that in their own nation, in the event of a Nazi-like defeat, at least they would go down fighting & not carted off like sheep to the slaughter. And that makes a lot of sense, helps to answer the question many ask: why did they just go when ordered, for the most part? As people who had rights given & then taken away throughout their history, they were simply not equipped for the most part to any large-scale resistance.
That leaves the question for those of us in the US especially, if overrun somehow we could fight as Americans, but if our own countrymen turned on us would be be able to fight back effectively, as Jews?
